Resisting emotional blackmail
The Zionist colonisation project and its settler state, Israel, are facing growing revulsion in progressive and left-wing public opinion, especially among the young, including young Jews. The Israeli propaganda machine is fighting back, and fighting dirty. It has invented a concept of »New anti-Semitism«, which is directed against the left and conflates Zionism and Jewishness and besmirches opposition to the former with hatred for Jews. It targets non-Jews, particularly Germans, and exploits the fact that the past persecution of Jews and the Nazi Judeocide was a monstrous crime, impossible to requite, and understandable guilt feelings in order to silence leftists’ criticism of Israel’s dispossession and oppression of the Palestinian people and force them to apologise for their humanity. It is aided by the ruling elites, obedient to US leadership of the »international community« (formerly known as »the free world«), because Israel is a major strategic asset of the US in the Middle East and beyond it. This emotional blackmail can and must be unmasked as a tool for an anti-emancipatory agenda and resisted. The historical and present ideological collusion between Zionism, reaction and anti-Semitism – opposition to integration of Jews in the countries of their birth and a push for their separation and emigration to colonise Palestine and live in a Jewish state − must be openly and fearlessly discussed and exposed.
